Wow! What a great, rich red, the petals really look like they’re infused with living blood, not sap – and a mountain silhouette in the dark shadow, with the peak (at least to my eye) perfectly centered.

That’s a lot of underexposure, one-and-two-thirds stops. It paid off.
I see lips rather than toes.

Stay tuned for next post. All shall be revealed. One thing has experience has taught me is that in any shot where a specific color predominates it’s really easy to over expose it, and checking the RGB histogram is vital.

I agree with Robert – that is a great rich red. The curves of the petals lie just right, and the shadows work well. I’d be happy to have a high-quality print of that on my wall.
