September 6, 2019 — Lake Tahoe. The sun was down and the conditions were perfect for some ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) work looking across and around the lake. As the evening progressed, the shutter speeds declined. This one was made towards the end of the first night of spin: f/16 @ 8 seconds, ISO 64.
This series is a test of my ruthlessness as an editor/curator. More to come.

Absolutely gorgeous image, Michael, and with those very thin pale lines on the horizon adding a lot – less is more!!! A 🙂

It would be interesting to compare the unmanipulated view.

Hardly any post-processing work on this one. Very slight color optimization. That’s it.

Quite nice, Michael. I am guessing those bright streaks were part of the ICM. They look a bit like a long exposure of a bright boat crossing the image. Now that sounds like what I should have done in Maine when the cruise ships went across the view.

I like this as a companion piece to the previous photograph. These are definitely heavenly blues. 🙂

Michael,
It’s funny, but the subtlety in color you have in your work is what I am constantly looking for in hand painted fabrics. They are so hard to come by. Then I may get a beautiful piece and it is almost too lovely to cut. But I do. Perish the thought. But what is fabric after all…?

Thank you, Julie. Got me to thinking: I wonder if these would print on fabric? That would be like having your cake and cutting it too.

I see people who take beautiful photos like this one and I think they must be witches. I can never seem to capture what I see with my camera.
