Gray day. The streak on horizon was the appeal. It was all there was. Shoot. Crap shoot, really. This was long before I was shooting RAW, so no direction home in editing. Gray on gray on gray. Blah. Nothing. Ain’t it hard when I discovered that it really wasn’t where it’s at…
It sat in archives for almost nine years.
One day I pulled it out, more as an exercise than anything else. How can I emphasize the streak? Well, I’d have to lose everything else. When you ain’t got nothin’, you go nothin’ to lose. You’re invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal…
How does it feel…?
It feels Cold. Stark. Dark.
But at the same time, Electric. Alive

I really like it. I don’t shoot RAW because I’m afraid my old computer would seize up.

That streak is so arresting in the darkness and I saw the cloud almost immediately after letting my eye wander. Then I clicked and it really became illuminated when the darkness filled my screen. It’s amazing what we discover after time has passed. New ways of seeing, new tools, new sensibilities.
