Jan 18, 2012 — Sonoma County Coast, California
An old favorite reimagined. If you look, you’ll see Point Reyes way off in the distance. The sky is creamy.
The best camera is the one you have with you. The Canon S95 was one of the first pocket cameras to have a larger sensor, allow full adjustments including Manual, and to provide RAW files. The RAW files were only 8-bit, which didn’t allow much flexibility in editing — but it was far better situation than jpg only.
(Canon PowerShot S95. RAW processing in DxO PhotoLab 3.3; Editing in Adobe Photoshop.)
Creamy indeed! I can see Point Reyes. I could sit and absorb for hours…. what a view, what a shot!

The small but still discernible presence of Point Reyes is a plus in an abstract sea- and skyscape like this one.
The title of your post reminded me that when I was living in Honduras in 1968–69 and saw on the cover of a certain record album the words “Cream” and “Disraeli Gears,” I had no way of knowing which was the name of the album and which the name of the group.

Thank you. Yes just having the points to go out a little bit adds another dimension entirely.
Their first album was called “Fresh Cream.“ The name of the band was pure ego: each of the three they were the best. Put them together and you have the cream of the crop. Disraeli Gears was a takeoff on derailleur gears on a bicycle. Alternate title for the album that they considered was Elephant Gerald.

Those were the days of groups with strange names: Strawberry Alarm Clock, ? & The Mysterians, Big Brother and the Holding Company, The Fying Burrito Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Bubble Puppy, Grand Funk Railroad, Procol Harum, etc.

I like the roundedness of your tones here…sky and sea are almost the same but they still have their own qualities.
