July 13, 2018 — San Mateo County Coast
I was asked to show the original shot from yesterday’s post. I thought I’d be able to update the post with a link to the original — but as it turns out there isn’t an original.
So here, for the fist time, is my 2018 treatment of this shot.
Discuss.

Sunprints are more distinct on the rippled [and darker] waters. Beautiful, my friend.

First one. The lighter version.

I see much smoothing out of details in the new version, as has been your wont; call it softening.

Yes, that seems to be what I do. At least for now.

I prefer the newer version for its smoothness which conveys a bit more sense of peace.

Thanks very much, Steve. That’s exactly what I was going for.

Did you intentionally turn off comments on your “One Last Time” post?

I noticed that too.

If I did, it was accidental. I just went in and discovered that the option of having comments or not is in some incredibly arcane place in the user interface that I’ve never been to before. But I did notice that allow comments was unchecked.

WP can be wonky. I had a box unchecked for sending me notifications of comments last year. I had to check it periodically as it kept getting unchecked for some reason. I also have some of my blogging friends comments sent to spam but I think that’s XFinity’s issue.

Thanks for the tip. I’ve seen other wonkiness, so why not this as well?!

I don’t even know how to turn off comments. Let me check.
