I put the last one and this one in separate windows so I could see them at the same time. I’ve sometimes been confronted with a photograph I took that ended up with a weak corner (pictorially or technically) that I’d like to exclude. One way is to crop out that corner horizontally, the other vertically.

Another way to see it is an element that is particularly strong, and whether it stands alone or in context.
