Hard to believe this was shot in the same place and in the same hour as the one in the last post. But it was. Despite the stormy day, this shot is tranquil.
ICM does strange things — especially in a misty environment. The 25-foot waves were there. There are even some in this shot, but the mist and the intentional camera motion obscures them.

Tranquility after the storm? Brilliant, my friend!

Thank you! Actually this is tranquility during the storm. You can’t see the big ones in the background enshrouded in mist. But they are there.

It is hard to believe this shows the same place and hour as in the previous picture. You’ve shown that ICM can tame waves; can it do the opposite and turn a calm sea into a raging surf?

Thank you very much. Yes, it can.

Although quite different, one can say the same thing about skies at dawn on a windy day. It is hard to discern 25 foot waves here. Smooth.

I can see the comparison, although I never thought about it. The ICM shots where you can see the 25 foot waves are actually not very impressive. All you see is a blurry lump.

I like all the colors in the sky here…gray has everything inside it. 🙂

Thank you very much. I love it when the grays are actually hiding lots of subtle colors.

Wonderful hues in the waves. A grayish subtle green? Is there such a thing?
