Impressionism / Inspiration / Photo Log / Photography / Seascapes

DSC03036_DxO11FMBlog

Dec 6, 2013 — Sonoma County Coast, California

An archive dive. Taken within a few minutes of one that I posted nearly a year ago. An idealization / abstraction / impression of reality. The lives of many pixels were changed forever…

Be well. Do good. Create.

(Sony RX-100. RAW processing in DxO PhotoLab 3.2; Editing in Adobe Photoshop.)

This is such a gorgeous shot, Michael. I see you processed in DxO PhotoLab 3.2. I’m using LR exclusively but I’m in search of a good alternative. I was wondering if you would recommend DxO as a replacement or as a stand-alone editor.

Thank you very much! I unreservedly recommend DxO. Been using it for years. Versatile, fairly easy to use. The Elite version has amazing noise reduction. I do my final edits in PS, however, since I blend layers fairly often — as I did with this image.

I enjoyed how my eyes moved right to left, through variations of blue and experienced calm and unity at the horizon. Yes, waiting for that which is beyond the horizon of this uncertain times.
