Dec 8, 2014 — Point Reyes National Seashore, California
Another archive dive. The image came to me in a dream recently. There was nothing special about the original shot — but today I was in search of a good starting point. Those pixels never knew what hit them…
Be well. Do good. Create.

The two lighter areas near the top edge made me wonder whether you’d flipped one side over to get the other, as you’ve done elsewhere.

Yes and no. I did, in fact, do that to get more symmetry. Originally, the two spots were rounder and a bit to the right. Now, with blending and some transparency, they are elongated and centered. Don’t tell anybody.

Thank again. Steve is an amazing guy. Part scientist, part artist, budding botanist, word nerd, and God knows what else.

Minimalist to a T, Michael. This is a powerful representation of the horizon and seascape. Beautiful work.

“Beyond” the imagination of ordinary photographers. This is a very soothing example of fine art inviting the viewer to visualize peace and tranquility.
